About the event
Join the Land Heritage Coalition Glastonbury, Inc. (LHC) for a fall walk at 1:00 pm on Sunday the 4th of October. We will be walking the Zihrup Property Open Space off of Windham Road in Marlborough. The property is in Glastonbury and owned by the Kongscut Land Trust but can only be accessed via car from Marlborough. Jim Cole of Kongscut Land Trust and Tim Ryan long-time LHC supporter will lead the walk.
We are excited to offer this walk in the fall. It is a chance to see migrating songbirds along with fall foliage. The highest point on the Zihrup property is one of the two highest points in Glastonbury and will offer beautiful vistas.
Access the property by taking Route 2 East to Exit 13 in Marlborough. Take a left at the bottom of the ramp onto West Street. Travel 1 mile to a stop sign and take a left onto Isleib Road which turns into Windham Road. Travel 1.2 miles to where the road dead ends. Please park on the right-hand side of the road. Parking is limited so please carpool if possible. The walk will be approximately 1.25 miles long over moderate terrain with two brook crossings. In case of inclement weather, please check our Facebook, Instagram or website for information on cancellation. The hike is free and open to the public. LHC is a member-based, nonprofit organization that strives to connect people and nature to inspire conservation.
